We are picked up from our home addresses anywhere in the greater Auckland/Wellington or Christchurch areas and taken to the airport for the short flight to Brisbane. On arrival we are taken to our hotel for our overnight stay.

A non refundable deposit of $1000 per person is
payable in order to confirm a place on the tour.
Final payment
Final payment would be due on the 10 MAR 2025.
Loyalty discount
We are pleased to offer a loyalty discount of $80
per person to those clients who have travelled
with us previously.
Insurance
Passengers travelling on this tour must be
covered by insurance in case of cancellation due
to illness, medical whilst you are away, and loss
of baggage. We are happy to quote Covermore
but urge you to check out all options available.
Any expenses incurred due to illness or accident
prior or during the tour are the clients
responsibility.
IS THIS TOUR SUITABLE FOR YOU?
This tour has some walking included and some of
the ground may be uneven or walking on sand.
You will need to be able to board and disembark
from the tour coaches unaided. Stand for 15
minutes during guided tours. Some properties
have shower over bath. This tour is not suitable
for wheelchairs or walkers. If you are unsure as to

Baggage Allowance:
Please note that 20KG baggage allowance
throughout with the exception of Brisbane/New
Zealand which is 30KG. Soft bags are preferred
for this tour without wheels.

Your Outback Queensland adventure begins today with a 2-hour QantasLink flight to Longreach. On arrival at Longreach Airport, you will be met by Outback Aussie Tours for a short coach transfer to our luxury glamping accommodation at Mitchell Grass Retreat. Take in the serenity of the Mitchell Grass Plains from your gorgeous canvas haven – relax and enjoy the facilities. This evening we will be treated to an exclusive welcome canapes event under the stars before dinner at a favourite local restaurant.

Wake to a delicious breakfast basket on your private deck before joining our coach on a full day tour to historic Winton Australia’s dinosaur capital. We’ll visit the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum located high on a magnificent mesa overlooking the plains where dinosaurs once roamed! Here, we’ll join a guided tour of the “March of the Titanosaurs” exhibition featuring trackways dating back millions of years followed by a self guided exploration of Dinosaur Canyon.
Get ready for a real outback pub lunch at the Tattersalls Hotel in downtown Winton then wander the interactive galleries of the Waltzing Matilda Centre. Return to Longreach late afternoon in time for a relaxed sunset barbecue dinner and campfire stargazing at Mitchell Grass Retreat.
Following breakfast, we’ll explore the Qantas Founders Museum presenting the fascinating story of Qantas from its fledgling days in Outback Queensland to present day Australia’s national carrier. Next, we’ll visit the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame, a visually splendid tribute to the people of outback Australia. Our lunch setting today at Drover’s Place is steeped in history featuring a beautiful stone cottage and acres of established native gardens. After some free time back at Mitchell Grass Retreat, we’ll join the award winning Drover’s Sunset Cruise on the Thomson River followed by the entertaining Smithy’s Outback Dinner & Show.
We farewell Longreach today and follow the Channel Country Way southwest to the land of
cattle kings, opals and ancient discoveries. Enjoy a tasty home-baked morning tea at the picturesque Swanvale Lookout. Uncover this remote region’s cultural and natural history as we travel through diverse landscapes to Quilpie Shire and Toogunna Plains, a 4th generation, 130,000 acre, sheep and cattle property. Capture the spirit of this magnificent location with sunset drinks and canapes overlooking spectacular red sandhills before a mouth-watering two-course dinner prepared by owner/chef Fiona. Stay 2 nights at Toogunna Plains Farmstay (Deluxe ensuite cabins).
Following a gourmet cooked breakfast, join our grazier hosts on a morning station tour for unique insights into the challenges and privilege of living on the land. Time for reflection after lunch to take in this amazing location before driving the short distance to the Eromanga Natural History Museum – home of Australia’s largest ever dinosaur dating back 95- million years. Join passionate dino-guides as they demonstrate fossil preparation and see these ancient dinosaurs come to life in a state-of-the-art media presentation. Celebrate another golden sunset with drinks and canapes on the Museum’s stately outdoor pavilion before our exclusive ‘Taste of the Outback’ long-table dinner.
We say goodbye to our Outback station hosts this morning and drive east to the opal town of Quilpie. Here we’ll be joined by a multi-generation local for a stories and gossip tour of Quilpie, a gutsy town that has a long history of attracting outback adventurers, opal hunters and the just plain curious! Following lunch at the historic Quilpie Brick Hotel, we continue east to Charleville in the heart of Mulga Country, a hub for pastoralists and the largest town in Queensland’s south west. Tonight, with the help of powerful Meade telescopes we will get an enticing insight into the wonders of our galaxy at the Cosmos Centre.

This morning we’ll visit the Outback Date Farm for a delicious date loaf morning tea while
learning how dates grow. We’ll then travel east to Mitchell for lunch at the Great Artesian Spa to discover the secret therapeutic benefits of these mineralised waters. Perhaps time for a quick soak after lunch before continuing on to Roma! Late afternoon, we’ll join a guided tour of Mount Hope, a working cattle station. This property is home to Droughtmaster cattle, coal seam gas and three generations of the Price family. Enjoy sunset nibbles and drinks followed by a farewell two-course camp oven dinner under the stars.
This morning we’ll join a local guide for a Roma Town Tour. Discover the town’s past and present visiting Australia’s largest cattle saleyards, Lake Neverfill, Heroes Avenue, the Biggest Bottle Tree and Bush Gardens. Following an early lunch, wewill be transferred to Roma Airport for our return flight to Brisbane. On arrival in Brisbane we are met and transferred to our hotel for overnight.
Today depending on flight scheduling we will have time for some shopping in Brisbane before being transferred to the airport for our flight home.
On arrival we will be met and taken back to our home addresses in Auckland/Wellington/Christchurch (with 25K of the airport). Ask about transfers in other centres.
