Enjoy breakfast before joining our coach for an amazing full day experience to Kuranda, located in World Heritage Rainforest. Our coach will take us to the Kuranda Scenic Railway Station which was built in 1891 and still transports tourists to and from Kuranda today!
Admire the lush rainforest views as you chug along through the hills and forests arriving in Kuranda where our first stop is the award-winning Rainforestation Nature Park, set on 100 acres of wilderness. Learn about the surrounding flora and fauna as you traverse through the jungle in an historic WWII Army Duck, an amphibious vehicle that can travel on land or water. Next, to the Koala & Wildlife Park. Here you can get up close to some of the most incredible Aussie creatures, including cassowaries, dingoes, Tasmanian devils, and koalas. You can also hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies. We then take in the Pamigirri Aboriginal Experience. Learning about the ancient traditions of Aboriginal Australians is a huge privilege, as it is one of the oldest surviving cultures in the world! Watch a special dance performance, see locals play the didgeridoo. Enjoy an Aussie BBQ lunch overlooking the nearby lake. This afternoon we explore more of Kuranda. Visit Tropical Treats in the Tropical Fruit Orchard to learn about the unique and exotic fruits that grow here. The Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is a wonderful place to visit in Kuranda. With around 1,500 butterflies of various shapes, sizes, and colours. You can also stop by the Cairns Birdwing and take a guided tour of the aviary. We return to Cairns via the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, which allows you to soar over the treetops for a bird’s-eye view of the waterfalls and forests of Barron Gorge National Park. Tonight join your Tour Manager for dinner.
